Tinkering—Girls Only! (Grades 5-6)
Tinkering—Girls Only!
Take your tinkering skills to a whole new level when you learn how to make things move, come to life, invent and design, all while having fun! Create an autonomous robot, invent wearable technology, sketch and print 3D objects, and more. You’ll have the chance to meet and work with real-life professionals who are changing our community through technology and invention.
Although not a prerequisite, this camp compliments and builds on the skills learned in Camp Discovery’s Future Engineers—Girls Only! camp.
Time: 9:00am – 4:00pm
Ages: Grades 5-6
Registration: Members $240, nonmembers $265
Notes: Early drop-off starting at 8:00am – $20 per week; Late pick up 4:00-5:30pm – $30 per week
Financial assistance
The Discovery is pleased to offer financial assistance to support the educational needs of children from families that cannot afford the full cost of the museum’s camps. For more information, click here.
Waiting list
Camps fill up quickly. If the camp you’d like to register for is full, you can be added to the waiting list by e-mailing your name, phone number, and the name of the camp you’d like to register for, to camps@nvdm.org.
Cancellation/transfer policy
The Discovery has a no refund cancellation policy. There is a $20 fee to transfer between camps. If you need to transfer from one camp to another, from one week to another, or make any changes to your Camp Discovery registration, please call 775-398-5954 or email camps@nvdm.org. Please note, you can only transfer to a camp that still have space available.
