Providing educational support for families with students on hybrid schedules and distance learning
With the school year starting amidst the ongoing challenges of COVID-19, we’re all learning how to best support our children’s education in this new normal. The Discovery is here to help. We’re pleased to introduce a new program designed to support the educational needs of students in 2nd through 8th grade.
This program provides a safe, structured, productive environment for students on hybrid (A/B) schedules and those who are participating in part-time of full-time distance learning. Students will be provided with:
Supervision on days when they are not attending school in person
Dedicated time for distance learning and homework assigned by their classroom teacher
Wi-Fi access for use when doing school work
Peer-to-peer interaction and collaboration
Additional hands-on science exploration and learning opportunities
The Discovery offers financial assistance to support the educational needs of students from families in need in our community. To apply for financial assistance, click here.
Registration is $35/day for members and $45/day for nonmembers. Register for as many days each week as needed. On the registration form, simply select the week you would like to register for and the days of that week your student will attend the program. Registration currently available for sessions October 26 through December 17, 2020.
This program is offered weekdays from 8:00am to 3:00pm. Extended hours from 3:00 to 5:30pm are available for an additional fee. Families can register for the schedule that works with their student’s hybrid or distance learning schedule.
