The Discovery is Temporarily Closed
Museum temporarily closed for general visitation
With daily visitation at less than 20% of normal levels since reopening on July 3, 2020 amidst the uncertainty of the COVID-19 pandemic, The Discovery has made the difficult but fiscally responsible decision to temporarily close the museum for general visitation effective August 17, 2020. Current plans are to reopen the museum during WCSD’s fall break, October 3-10, 2020 and then remain open on Saturdays and Sundays only, until visitation returns to closer to normal levels.
The Discovery truly appreciates the patience, support, and understanding of our community, and we look forward to welcoming you back to the museum as soon as circumstances improve.
Hybrid & Distance Learning Support program
To continue to deliver the museum’s mission, and serve the needs of our community, The Discovery has launched a new Hybrid & Distance Learning Support program designed to serve the educational needs of families with students on hybrid schedules and in distance learning.
