Temporarily Closed There's always more to discover!
Our highest priority is the health and safety of our visitors, staff, volunteers, and our community. In response to Nevada Governor Steve Sisolak’s directive to close all nonessential businesses to help limit the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19), The Discovery is currently closed to the public. We are awaiting direction from the State of Nevada on a date when we can reopen the museum to the public. Please continue to visit this webpage for updates as they become available.
As a result of the closure, the following changes to the museum’s programs will occur:
While The Discovery is closed to the public, a portion of the museum’s staff is still accessible by email and phone. However, the most efficient way to contact the museum is via our website.
If you have signed up for a camp, birthday party, field trip or facility rental during the closure, our staff will be reaching out to you directly to make new arrangements and accommodations.
We’re very appreciative of the continued support of the museum’s members. To thank you for your support during this uncertain time, we will be extending annual memberships impacted by the closure. The amount of time added to your membership will be determined once we are able to reopen the museum. Members will be contacted by e-mail with details on the extension of their membership.
With the current State-mandated closure of all nonessential businesses, The Discovery is experiencing an immediate and severe financial shortfall of $400,000. Please considering supporting The Discovery Resiliency Fund so that the museum can reopen once this crisis is over.
