On Sunday, March 12th, 2023, Race178’s annual Leprechaun Race raised $5,000 for The Discovery. The 5k run/walk, held in and around the Midtown area of Reno, included a leprechaun that racers attempted to beat to the finish line. The 117 racers who completed the 5k ahead of the leprechaun received a special commemorative prize.
Race178, a race production company based in Reno, Nevada, has provided consistent support for The Discovery through its generous donations. In the 10 years the Leprechaun Race has been held, Race178 has contributed $45,971 to The Discovery in support of the museum’s mission to inspire by being the place to experience science.
“Leprechauns and science go hand-in-hand every year thanks to our friends and supporters at Race178,” said Mat Sinclair, CEO of The Discovery. “For more than a decade these our two organizations come together for a fun and unique experience. Discovery staff and volunteers provide critical support on race day, and Race178 generously donates proceeds from the race back to the museum to support our mission to inspire. We cannot thank community partners like Race178 enough for their incredible generosity and support!”
