Weird World of Microbes

In this hands-on camp, campers will explore the amazing world of microbes, digging deep into things like infectious diseases and how they’re spread. Working as a microbiologist does, campers will grow a disease in a petri dish, explore the structure of cells, think critically about diseases and how their spread can be controlled, and even make their own microscope!

Location: The Discovery, 490 S. Center Street, Downtown Reno
Time: 9:00am – 4:00pm
Ages: Students enrolled in grades 5-7
Registration: Members $290, nonmembers $315
Notes: Early drop-off starting at 8:00am – $30 per week; Late pick up 4:00-5:30pm – $45 per week

Camps fill up quickly. If the camp you’d like to register for is full, you can be added to the wait list on the CampSite registration platform.

Transfer, Cancelation and Refund Policy
The Discovery has a no refund cancelation policy for camp registrations. There is a $20 fee to transfer between camps. If you need to transfer from one camp to another, from one week to another, or make any changes to your Camp Discovery registration, please call 775-398-5942 or email camps@nvdm.org. Please note, you can only transfer to camps that still have space available.
