The Reno Dentist Gives The Discovery Another Reason to Smile

Between March 1 and June 30, 2016 hundreds of dental practices nationwide, including The Reno Dentist, professionally whitened patients’ teeth to raise money for seriously ill, disabled, and underprivileged children. Since 1998 the campaign has raised over $36 million dollars for children’s charities around the world. The practices are part of the Crown Council—an alliance of leading-edge dental teams committed to charitable work. When you have your smile whitened, 100% of the proceeds go to the Smiles For Life Foundation; Smiles for Life then distributes half of the proceeds to local children’s charities like The Discovery. The other half of the proceeds is given to national and international children’s organizations.

Through the Smiles for Life campaign, The Reno Dentist’s Dr. Shane Sykes DMD, Dr. Cameron Foulk DMD, and Dr. Jacob Zurcher DDS, chose The Discovery as the local recipient of their generous donation of $1,500.00 to support the museum’s mission to increase interest and engagement in science in our community.

“When we were deciding which organization to support with our Smiles For Life efforts, our patients recommended The Discovery because they, like us, are committed to inspiring lifelong growth and improvement,” said Dr. Sykes. “It is our pleasure to be able to contribute to the museum and the wonderful value they bring to our community.”
