10:00am - 8:00pm There’s always more to discover!
The Discovery’s newest featured exhibition invites visitors to explore the science, history and future of flight — from soaring like a bird to riding an elevator to the edge of space.
Above and Beyond: The Ultimate Interactive Flight Exhibition opens to the public Saturday, May 30. The 5,000-square-foot interactive aerospace exhibition is included with museum admission and is presented in both English and Spanish.
Produced by Evergreen Exhibitions in association with Boeing, developed in collaboration with NASA and the Smithsonian’s National Air and Space Museum, Above and Beyond celebrates humanity’s journey through air and space through immersive simulations, hands-on design challenges, iconic historical touchstones and visionary concepts for the future.
Visitors can design and test-fly their own supersonic aircraft, pilot a drone into the eye of a hurricane, spread their wings to experience flight like a bird and even ride an elevator to the edge of space. The exhibition combines cutting-edge technology with inspiring stories from aviation pioneers past and present to create a one-of-a-kind STEM experience for all ages.
“Above and Beyond captures the excitement, ingenuity and imagination behind humanity’s pursuit of flight,” said Heather Norton, The Discovery’s President/CEO. “From designing supersonic jets to experiencing the sensation of flight firsthand, this exhibition invites guests of all ages to explore the science, technology and creativity that make the impossible possible.”
Presenting support for Above and Beyond is provided by the George W. Gillemot Foundation. Lead support provided by Click Bond, Phil and Jennifer Satre, SNC, and Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority.
Above and Beyond will be on exhibit at The Discovery through January 10, 2027.
