Members of The Discovery’s Board of Directors tirelessly give their time and expertise to help the museum serve our community in the best way possible.
Chris Riche, Founder
Chris Riche moved to Reno in 2004. An entrepreneur and father of two, Chris surveyed the cultural landscape in northern Nevada and thought the area could benefit from a discovery museum. He personally funded the project’s feasibility study, and along with great community support built the initial team, launched the capital campaign, and secured Reno’s former City Hall building as the location. From 2004 to 2011, more than $21 million was raised to purchase the building, perform needed remediation, and design and build the initial collection of hands-on exhibitions.
