10:00am - 8:00pm There’s always more to discover!
From interactive exhibits, to art projects, to school field trips, The Discovery has a plethora of activities and hands-on programs for students (and adults!) of all ages. One of our programs that really gets visitors excited is live science demonstrations that take place each day on the museum floor. The Discovery’s science demonstration program strives to teach visitors about science in a fun, engaging way—one that will instill lifelong curiosity and a joy for learning about science, engineering, and more.
Drum roll, please… The Discovery’s science demonstration program just got even better! This summer, we are very excited to launch a newly designed demonstration cart with support from the NV Energy Foundation. This project was funded through a $10,000 grant from the Foundation as part of their “Power of Good” campaign.
NV Energy’s “Power of Good” campaign funds programs and initiatives that leave lasting, positive impacts on the community. The Discovery is honored to receive this grant and even more excited about the science demonstrations and educational field trips it has allowed us to offer.
At the Discovery we know that the best way to learn something new or spark curiosity is to jump in and try it out for yourself. That’s exactly what our science demonstration program strives to do. These live science demonstrations bring a mixture of fun, exploration, and hands-on learning to museum visitors of all ages.
Imagine creating your own human circuit, or testing your own vortex with a fog cannon. What about experiencing the thrill of learning about different gases through a hydrogen balloon demo? You can do it all via live demonstrations at The Discovery. Stop by The Discovery and experience one of our demos for yourself. We deliver 20 demos every week during the summer! More information can be found on the museum’s calendar of events.
