The Discovery is partnering with fellow nonprofit Project:Camp to offer day camps for children impacted by the Dixie and Caldor wildfires currently burning in California. The full-day (9:00am – 3:00pm) camps are for children ages 6-16 and will be offered September 1-3 and September 6-10, 2021. There is no cost to attend. The camp includes two healthy snacks and lunch each day.
To attend camp, please register in advance. Parents will need to fill out a full registration form for their child(ren) when they arrive for camp.
About Project:Camp
Project:Camp empowers families and communities to care for children during and after disasters. We provide resources and training to create trauma-informed spaces for kids. Our volunteers are uniquely qualified to help kids cope with and process extreme events. Originating in the response to Hurricane Harvey in Houston in 2017, Project:Camp is a fiscally sponsored project of Jumpstart Labs.
