Come one, come all! The incomparable Rhys Thomas and his Science Circus is coming to The Discovery for one weekend only. Rhys’ fun-filled performances teach Newtonian physics using a rare blend of science, comedy and circus arts. Attendees will learn surprising things about gravity, gyroscopic stability, centripetal force, center of balance, and inertia. Following your travels through The Discovery’s space-themed exhibitions, design and construct a postcard to send to friends and family. In this material-specific session of Open Build, you’ll use real tools like a sewing machine, hot glue and fabric glue to create nearly anything you can imagine out of fabric.
