Family Science Nights

Bring students, parents and teachers together for hands-on science experiences.

Family Science Nights at The Discovery offer a unique opportunity for your school’s families and teachers to visit the museum and kindle a lifelong interest in learning. At your Family Science Night, your school or group will explore the museum’s diverse galleries and exhibits and have the opportunity to take part in a variety of hands-on science activities and demonstrations.

Family Science Nights are designed to foster partnerships between teachers, parents and students, and strengthen parent and family involvement in science exploration and discovery.

Weekdays and Weekends (excluding Wednesdays)

Host your exclusive Family Science Night from 5:00 to 8:00pm, Monday through Sunday (excluding Wednesdays), and have the museum reserved just for your families and faculty for the following rates:

51-100 people	101-200 people	201-300 people

Wednesday Evenings

Host your Family Science Night from 5:00 to 8:00pm on a Wednesday evening (during normal museum hours) for the following rates:

Up to 50 people	51-100 people	101-200 people	201-300 people

Add-on Activities

Science Demonstrations
Enjoy two interactive science demonstrations led by the museum’s educators during your event. Cost: $100

Themed Hands-on Activities
In addition to exploring the entire museum, offer your participants a selection of themed hands-on science activities lead by the museum’s team of educators. Offered during two hours of your event. Cost: $300

Let’s Do Chemistry
Chemistry is all around us and inside of us, too. It’s in the air we breathe, the water we drink, the food we eat, the soil we grow food in, the medicines we take, and so much more! Through a variety of hands-on activities and experiments, families will see how friendly, fun, active and full of discovery chemistry can be.

Little Science, Big Fun
Explore the exciting field of nanoscience! Families will go on an adventure of scale as they visit five different hands-on themed stations to explore the cutting-edge field of nano technology. Available in English and Spanish.

Build It Bigger, Better, Stronger
Encourage teamwork and critical thinking by challenging families to think like engineers. Through hands-on challenges, families will work together to solve design challenges and learn the importance of persistence when solving problems.
