The Biggest Little City is filled with community members looking to make a difference, especially when it comes to the growth and impact of The Discovery. Among them is Ian Cochran, a 4th generation Nevadan whose involvement with the museum’s board of directors is helping us further our goal of bringing science inspiration to Reno and its neighboring areas.
Ian is a Partner at Logic Commercial Real Estate, a comprehensive firm offering brokerage, property management, capital markets, and receivership services tailored to the Nevada market. He initially joined Logic as a Vice President in 2018, leveraging his extensive 14-year background in real estate to rise to the role of Founding Partner for their Reno office. Alongside two other Partners, Ian plays a pivotal role in steering the growth and direction of the local headquarters, with both he and his team being awarded the National Association for Industrial and Office Parks (NAIOP) Summit Awards Retail Broker of the Year Award in 2019, 2020, 2021, and most recently, 2023. Additionally, Ian and his team were also awarded CoStar Group’s Quarterly Retail Power Broker from Q3 of 2021 to Q4 of 2023.
As connected members our community and a member of the museum’s board of directors since 2018, Ian prioritizes spreading the joy of The Discovery among his colleagues and acquaintances. Sharing the same values as his peers on the board, Ian hopes to see The Discovery become a go-to destination for all-ages science education. Additionally, Ian hopes to help make connections that will further increase the depth of museum donors.
Outside of his professional roles, Ian enjoys spending his spare time with his wife and 4-year-old son, participating in a catalog of outdoor activities such as hiking, golfing, skiing, and mountain biking. Together with his wife, Ian frequently takes their 4-year-old son to The Discovery, fostering his curiosity and love for learning through exploration.
