Thanks to the support of EMPOW[HER] Collective members, the impact of the Collective’s first year has been tremendous! Through hands-on experiences and special events, we’ve reached more than 400 aspiring female STEM professionals.

The Discovery’s EMPOW[HER] Collective for Women & Girls in STEM expands the museum’s programming for girls with the goal of keeping them engaged with STEM throughout their education. Women remain underrepresented in STEM career fields – this initiative is a catalyst to change that. The collective is comprised of women working in various STEM disciplines as well as undergraduate and graduate students studying these fields. Through mentorship, networking, and hands-on programs developed and implemented by women in this collective, women and girls of all ages are collaborating to build a community, giving rise to the next generation of female STEM professionals.
