Celebrate Gerard’s 1st birthday with us here at The Discovery! We’re marking the one-year anniversary of the installation of the museum’s Allosaurus cast with a weekend filled with dinosaur activities for all ages.
Amber Fossil Jewelry
Inspired by Jurassic Park, visitors can make replica amber fossil stones that can be worn as jewelry or turned into fridge magnets. Using amber vase stones, coloring pages and other materials, visitors can make these fun keepsakes for themselves or a loved one.
Fossil Dig Pit
Young learners will experience what it is like to be a paleontologist in The Discovery’s dig pit. Visitors will be challenged to find fossil bones and reassemble them to make a dinosaur skeleton.
Dino Hats
Visit Art Alcove to use construction paper and a variety of other crafting supplies to create a dinosaur themed hat.
Plush Dinosaurs
Visit The Shop to put your creativity and your sewing skills to the test when you design your very own stuffed dinosaur. With the help of the museum’s educators, you’ll use available materials to design and fill your own plush dino to keep!
Do-it-Yourself Fossils
Make your own fossil imprint using clay and a selection of dino themed imprint tools. Once it dries, you’ll have your very own paleontological artifact.
