Fish tales: The monsters and the minis

From the world’s largest fish to some of the smallest and most rare, join Science Distilled to traverse freshwater streams and rare ecosystems with Zeb Hogan, host of National Geographic’s “Monster Fish,” and Mark Hausner, hydrogeologist at Devils Hole. Learn about the lives of celebrity scientists and the grit needed to study species of great public interest.

The Devils Hole pupfish is an enigmatic, endangered species that occurs solely in Devils Hole, a water-filled fracture in the Southern Nevada Mojave Desert. Mark Hausner will talk about the impacts – both direct and indirect – of more than 40 years of development on this species and its delicate habitat.
