Calendar of Events

The Rotary Club of Midtown, Grassroots Books and The Discovery are on a mission to help children build their very own book collections. From 4:00 to 8:00pm on Wednesday, July 20th we will be providing free books to museum visitors. Bring a bag or backpack and fill it with your favorites literary selections while enjoying half price admission to The Discovery!

Once again, The Discovery is participating in the annual Midtown Art Walk. Enjoy free admission from 4:00 to 8:00pm and the opportunity to explore the entire museum including the newest addition, Inside Out: an Anatomy Experience, and the featured exhibition, Monster Fish: In Search of the Last River Giants, on exhibit through September 5th. Head to The Discovery for a hauntingly good time at the 7th annual Halloween Trick-or-Treat. Visit the museum in costume and trick-or-treat from gallery to gallery. There’ll be spooky science demos and delicious treats for all of the little ghosts, ghouls and goblins who attend. Note: For the safety of all visitors, please no costumes with weapons of any kind. The Nevada State Treasurer’s Office and the SSGA Upromise 529 Plan invite you and your family to The Discovery on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 to celebrate education and the future of our children. Join us at the museum for a day of fun activities meant to inspire and remind everyone to start small, and dream big. Visitors age 17 and under enjoy FREE admission from 12:00 until 8:00pm! Adult admission is $12 ($5 after 4:00pm).
