Melody is two years old and her parents read to her every day. When she reached 1,000 books – a milestone tallied by their local library in Fallon – her parents presented her with a certificate offering to take her somewhere special to celebrate. They chose to bring her on her first visit to The Discovery. We appreciate Melody and her parents’ accomplishment and thank them for sharing their celebratory outing with The Discovery!

Melody’s mom said, “One of your sweet staff members gifted Melody the book she is looking at with her dad in the photo. He purchased it from the Museum Store and presented it to Melody. It was so kind and it made us tear up. Melody loved the ‘special trip’ to The Discovery and we are grateful we were able to take her thanks to the Discovery for All program. It was an amazing way to get her excited about learning and help her feel a sense of accomplishment for reading all those books. Thank you again!”
