The Discovery is offering free museum admission to furloughed federal employees during the partial government shutdown.
“The Discovery is our region’s place for hands-on science exploration and fun, and we are honored to provide a family-friendly diversion for those who are dealing with this unfortunate situation,” said Mat Sinclair, President/CEO of The Discovery.
The Discovery is located at 490 S. Center Street in downtown Reno. Daily admission is normally $10 for children ages 1-17, $12 for adults, $10 for seniors ages 65+, and free for children under age 1. Admission for visitors of all ages is $5 per person after 4 p.m. on Wednesdays when the museum stays open until 8 p.m.
Free admission offered to the impacted federal employee and up to three immediate family members. Visitors must show a valid and current federal ID or badge indicating they work in a department affected by the current partial government shutdown.
