Kyle McCann got involved with The Discovery with a plan in mind. That makes sense when you consider he’s a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER®. Kyle joined the museum’s finance committee in April 2012 and became a member of the museum’s board of directors in September 2017. His goal was to lend his expertise to help build financial stability for the young, nonprofit organization.
Kyle chose to get involved with The Discovery after visiting with their daughter for the first time. He immediately recognized that The Discovery is an amazing resource for our community. He and his family continue to visit the museum and are never disappointed when they do.
Kyle attended the University of Nevada, Reno where he completed his bachelor’s degree in finance in 2005 and then received his master’s degree in finance in 2011. Currently, Kyle co-owns Vantage Wealth Planning in Reno where he and his partner Ben Mathews do comprehensive financial planning for families and small businesses.
When asked about the museum’s future plans, Kyle said,
“I hope to see the museum continue to expand its reach both geographically as well as demographically. I know that the museum has the management team to do so, and I am excited to see what they have in store for the future.”
In his spare time, Kyle enjoys cycling and playing golf, but more realistically most of his spare time is spent with his wife, Dr. Nicole Stoker, watching their two kids play various sports, traveling to soccer tournaments, and tossing a baseball with his son…. a pastime Kyle loves!
