The Discovery’s EMPOW[HER] Collective for Women & Girls in STEM is excited to host the inaugural Girls’ STEM Career Day. Connect with representatives from local STEM businesses and organizations, explore a wide variety of STEM careers, and be inspired by a keynote speaker and expert panel of women in the STEM fields.

Our Keynote Speaker

Karen Purcell is a dynamic engineer, entrepreneur, author and speaker. Karen draws from her personal and professional experiences to help women confidently pursue their interests in the science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) fields and build successful, fulfilling careers. Karen is author of the book Unlocking Your Brilliance: Smart Strategies for Women to Thrive in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math.

This event is part of The Discovery’s EMPOW[HER] Collective for Women & Girls in STEM, expanding the museum’s programming for girls with the goal of keeping them engaged with STEM throughout their education.
