Why is it so hard to just take the darn bus? We know it’s good for our carbon footprint, and we’re the first to advocate for sustainable options. But when the rubber meets the road, it can be hard to make our values match with our everyday transportation needs, especially in Western American cities like Reno.
How can we make sustainable transportation options more practical? At this virtual edition of Science Distilled, you’ll hear from speakers designing sustainable transport solutions in dramatically different contexts, from a beautifully engineered bike path along the shore of Lake Tahoe to a high-speed train between Southern California and Las Vegas. They’ll explore how they work to sift through possibilities and find locally relevant solutions that inspire people to hop on board. Come consider with us how we can move the needle on sustainable transportation.
Please note: This virtual edition of Science Distilled will be live-streamed on DRI and The Discovery’s Facebook pages. To make sure you don’t miss it, visit the event page on Facebook and click “Going.” |
