Pricing and registration
Cost: $275 for up to 3 classrooms. $75 for each additional classroom (max. of 5 per day)

Heat Helpers

Requirements: Dedicated classroom with white board
In this entertaining and engaging lab, students will observe the effects the sun has on Earth’s surface and its inhabitants. Students will participate in class discussions and use materials to design and create a shade structure that minimizes the warming effects of the sun. This hands-on lab also gives students the opportunity to practice their 21st century learning skills as they work together to accomplish a common goal.

Requirements: Dedicated classroom with white board
In this engaging, hands-on lab students will learn how to observe, describe and predict celestial movements. Through activities like making an Earth, Moon, Sun model, students will understand the relationships between the Earth, its Moon and the Sun, addressing common misconceptions about what we see in the night sky.

Changing Matter

Duration: Approx. 50 minutes

Requirements: Dedicated classroom with white board, access to electricity, two additional chaperones/volunteers
In this lab, students will be asked to construct an argument, using evidence, that some changes caused by heating or cooling can be reversed and some cannot. Working in small groups and as a class, students will witness four different reactions and then analyze and sort them based on what they observe.

In this hands-on program, students will analyze and interpret data from fossils to uncover evidence of the organisms and environments of the past. With exploration and observation, students will develop critical thinking skills and learn how to make inferences about the form, function, and habitats of ancient organisms.

This interactive lab guides students as they learn to identify the spheres in our world and use models to gain understanding of their functions. Polishing their 21st century collaborative and teamworking skills, students will work in small groups as they engage in intellectual discussions and data interpretation on how these spheres interact with each other, as well as the impact the interactions have on humans.
