Creativity reigns supreme in Art Alcove, The Discovery’s artist space located inside Da Vinci’s Corner where there’s a unique art project offered each day the museum is open. Art Alcove also features Clear Canvas, a large-scale, see-through canvas for paint and markers.
Position Summary
An Art Alcove volunteer will lend their artistic talents by helping facilitate art projects with children and families. Volunteers will create a welcoming environment that offers visitors an engaging and comfortable space to explore a variety of art projects and techniques.

Typical Duties
Assisting visitors with art projects
Alerting museum staff when low in supplies
Helping with set up of the daily art activities
Clearing the Clear Canvas exhibit (glass) and chalkboard
Minimum Requirements
For this position, orientation and a one-time training session are required. Candidate must be available to volunteer a minimum two-hour shift, twice a month. A background check and drug screening are required prior to the start of volunteering.
