Parker Stremmel joined The Discovery’s board of directors in June 2018. Parker made the decision to get involved at The Discovery because he wanted to help foster the museum’s growth and considers The Discovery a true cultural asset for our region.
Parker is the Director of Stremmel Gallery, a Reno-based fine art gallery that specializes in contemporary paintings, drawings, and sculptures by mid-career and established American and European artists. Additionally, Parker is part of the Coeur d’Alene Art Auction, which specializes in the finest classical Western and American Art, representing past masters and outstanding contemporary artists.
So how does a career in fine art translate to a role on the board of a hands-on science center? The answer is simple; it’s personal:
“I look forward to the museum’s continued growth as a jewel in our region. The Discovery is a vital component in shaping, ushering, and strengthening current and future generations, and it’s with great responsibility that we, as a board, have in ensuring the museum fulfills its mission.”
When not actively participating on The Discovery’s board or taking on his duties at Stremmel Gallery and the Coeur d’Alene Art Auction, Parker enjoys cycling and reading. However, the bulk of his free time is spent following the whims of his wife, Megan, his two children, Ainsley and Crosby, and two dogs, Buster and Willie.
