Ripples created by the Tesla Gigafactory have put Nevada in the spotlight for renewable energy and power storage. You may have heard of emerging technologies for personal energy storage, such as Tesla’s Powerwall 2, but likely haven’t had the chance to consider the effects they may have. DRI researchers Amber Broch and Eric Wilcox will give you a unique glimpse into the future of energy storage and personal energy independence, tackling the question of how we can begin to forecast fluctuations in solar energy – caused by weather – to maintain the intricate balance between at-home storage, use, and circulation back to the grid.
