Design a Planetary Rover
Visit The Shop to design your own planetary surface exploration device. Choose from a variety of materials and go to work designing a rover that is equipped to move, collect samples, and send information back to Earth.*

Invent a Spaceship
Humans have long endeavored to travel among the stars. To do so, we need innovative spaceships that go farther and faster than ever before. Visit Spark!Lab Smithsonian to invent a spacecraft using recycled materials, considering things like how it will be powered, where it will travel, who will be at the controls, and other important aspects of the mission.*

Moon Craters and Rockets
Throughout the museum you’ll encounter a variety of ways to explore the science of space. Create your own moon crater, build and launch a rocket propelled by air, and much more!
*Some activities includes access to tools and materials that can be dangerous if used improperly. Caregivers are encouraged to help young participants use the tools and materials safely.
