Gold Fever

Grab your pick and shovel as we head out in search of the mother lode. Get ready to explore destinations all over northern Nevada learning about the mining industry and the science behind pulling precious metals and gems out of the ground. Campers will pan for gold and learn how to tell the difference between fools gold and the real thing, take a tour of a mine in Virginia City, mine for crystals, and visit a functioning gold mine at the Coeur Rochester Mine in Lovelock, Nevada.

Ages: Grades 3-7
Registration: Members $250, nonmembers $275
Notes: Early drop-off starting at 8:00am – $20 per week; Late pick up 4:00-5:30pm – $30 per week
