Field trip volunteers will lend their talents to help set up and facilitate activities for school-aged children alongside museum educators. A volunteer’s duties will be, but are not limited to: assisting with getting children on and off the buses, helping Museum Educators prepare and teach field trip labs, engaging with the students and chaperones in the labs and throughout the museum, assist in creating an environment of safety and inclusion

Duties
Interact with and engage students, teachers and chaperones in the labs, exhibit and galleries
Alertmuseum staff to low availability of supplies or malfunctioning exhibits
Alert staff to lost children or chaperones
Assist in gathering of school groups when it is time for them to go
Help set up and clean-up the field trip labs and lunchrooms
Minimum Requirements
For this position, orientation and a one-time training session are required. Candidate must be available to volunteer a minimum two-hour shift, twice a month. A background check and drug screening are required prior to the start of volunteering. Field trips typically occur 10:00am to 2:00pm, Tuesday through Friday. The majority of the available volunteer shifts are on Thursday and Friday mornings.
